Four chairs designed by William Kent, probably by Royal cabinet maker Benjamin Goodison (circa 1730) of Long Acre, commissioned by William, 3rd Duke of Devonshire (1698-1755), for Devonshire House.
The frames carved with acanthus and bell-flowers, the arm supports with lion's mask terminals, currently covered in crimson damask.
