Lettice Douffet is employed as a tour guide in the most boring historical house in England. Fed up with delivering the prescribed tour text, she starts improvising increasingly elaborate "alternative facts". She is inevitably sacked by trust manager Lotte Schoen. The unlikely friendship that develops between the two women sets them on the path for a hilarious adventure.
